Enjoy drinks, dinner and jazz on Friday, October 11th! Reunion Quintet is a 5 piece jazz and dance band that features saxophone, trumpet and trombone, with a rhythm section. They will provide a variety of jazz and dance band music.
Ray Dretske, saxophone, plays with a variety of local and regional bands. He has taught as Winona State University and has toured extensively with his own show. Performing credits include Steve Allen, Ronnie Milsap, Frankie Valle, The Dallas Jazz Orchestra, John Paulson Big Band, and others.
Mark Glasel, trombone, has performed with Bob Hope, Andy Williams, Lionel Hampton, Jerry Vale, and as a full-time musician at Disney World in Florida, He was also Principal Trombone with the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra for 25 years.
Gary Urness, trumpet and piano, was a Winona Middle School Band Director for 21 years. He now maintains a trumpet trumpet teaching studio in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Performing credits include the VIP’s, Phoenix, Arizona, Lester Lannin Orchestra at the Arizona Biltmore, Scottsdale Symphony, Guy Lombardo Orchestra, and his own trio.
Larry Dalton, bassist has performed with most area jazz artists and is a member for the gypsy jazz group Under Paris Skies, the bluegrass band Strong Ties, and the UWLa Crosse Symphony Orchestra. He also performed and/or recorded with a number of area singer songwriters. Before coming to Wisconsin, he was a professional musician in southern California.
Rich MacDonald, percussionist, is the director of jazz and percussion studies at Winona State University. He performs at jazz venues in the tri-state region and is Principal Percussionist with the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra. As a drum set and percussion specialist, Dr. MacDonad has presented clinics throughout the U.. and Canada. Some of Dr. MacDonad’s performing credits include: George Benson, Eddie Daniels, Slide Hampton, Milt Hinton, Arturo Sandoval, and three years touring experience with the Ice Capades.
